Inspiration - Surtseyan Tuff
Volcanic rock that is generally associated with submarine eruptions, with the emission of volcanic ash and other rocky fragments that belong to the surroundings, and where projected during the eruption. These fragments are altered and consolidated, giving the rock yellow or brownish tones.
Surtseyan tuff is the rock of choice in the construction of military edifications because it has the ability to absorb the impact of cannonballs. This is the rock that characterizes Monte Brasil and the one that was used in the construction of the Castle of São João Batista.
